Judging for the competition will be done
by:
- Barbara Kesel: After having been on editorial
staff at DC and Managing Editor at Dark Horse, Barbara achieved her greatest
fan recognition as Head Writer for CrossGen and their acclaimed line of
adventure comics. She currently has a range of freelance writing and editing
projects, including editing a new
romance comics project for Platinum Press.
- Jim Ottaviani: Jim is an uncommon success story
in the comics field, finding success as a self-publishing non-artist
writer. He specializes
in writing
tales about real scientists, starting with his Eisner-nominated and
Xeric grant-receiving anthology Two-Fisted
Science and leading up
to his most
recent, Bone Sharps,
Cowboys, and Thunder Lizards, a vibrant tale of
the offbeat characters and competitive conflicts of classic paleontology.
- Joe
Staton: With his three decades of experience in the comics
field, this Eisner Award winner's
career is remarkable not just for its depth, but also for its breadth.
He has achieved respect for his work on superheroes, on crime comics,
on humor comics, and on anything else that editors throw at him. Co-creator
of E-Man and The Huntress, his work
can currently be found in the pages of DC’s Scooby-Doo (he's
drawn more pages of Scooby-Doo than anyone, ever) and
Claypool’s
Soulsearchers and Company.
The referee for the competition (interpreting rules and restrictions)
will be Nat Gertler, Eisner-nominated comics writer of such works as Licensable
Bear™, publisher of About Comics, and founder of both 24
Hour Comics Day and Comics Jam War. |
